The journey begins when neither 16 year-old Kara nor her twin brother Carl can believe what they are seeing. Instead of looking out the study window and seeing their backyard, they are suddenly looking at an overgrown forest clearing. Striding through the clearing is a shaggy-haired barbarian wearing a round metal helmet and leading a pony laden with a slain deer and a huge shield.
As impetuous as ever, Carl starts to crawl out the window into the other world. When Kara tries to stop him from doing something dangerously insane, Carl pulls her through after him. When they turn to go home, the window back to their world has closed, and they are trapped.
Thus starts their adventure in the wilds of King Arthur's Fifth Century Britain. After Carl is injured, can the two of them find the key to open the window back to their world in time to save Carl's life? Does Kara have the courage to return to her world and give u the love that she's never known before?
