A journey to discover the existence of a mythical society deep in the Australian bush links science, aboriginal beliefs, and the paranormal.
Dr. James hay, an Australian scientist, leads a team through the Australian bush in a quest for his adopted Aboriginal people. The team includes Samantha "Sam" Louis, a beautiful but sceptical American journalist. An early attempt to sabotage his journey by a jealous colleague is thwarted and the journey begins to the Glass House Mountains in Queensland.
They enter a portal to an underground world filled with black water lakes aliens, bunyips and Yowies, the equivalent of the Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot. Amaru, the leader of a dying Neanderthal tribe, encounters the team. She tells Sam and James that their DNA holds the key to restoring balance to the earth and is necessary for
the planet's survival. Jams and Sam leave the underground world to fulfil their destiny.
Glass House was an Eppie finalist in 2001.
